PCF CEO Retreat Edition 1
I am glad you are here because this is a place of removing cobwebs, this is a place where we educate our soldiers from. H.E welcomed the CEOs. “The First thing we addressed was dealing with the interests of the people.’ In his remarks, he said Ideology brings unity, peace and boosts good infrastructure. Good Infrastructure is very important, let’s start with using that power, the social infrastructure.
H.E. pledged to start working on issues of cutting power and transport expenses, building social infrastructure, schools, and roads as it will greatly help with aiding economic growth since they are the key aspects affecting Uganda as a whole. The cost of manufacturing should also be reduced to enable Ugandans to afford manufacturing their products and ably export their products. An educated population is much easier to skill than an uneducated one. Ugandans need to be trained in economy-building aspects. “If we don’t sell how will production grow?” Government needs to create an atmosphere for The Private Sector to come in and produce the goods and services we need so Uganda can export more and import less channeling towards Uganda’s economic growth. In 2013, only 31% of the homesteads in Uganda were in the no-money economy, they earn hand to mouth which greatly affects consumption. “Why don’t you produce for the stomach and the pocket?”The economy doesn’t move well because 68% of the people are not part of the budget economy. The 68% have now reduced to 39%. Coffee production has grown from 2 million bags to close 9 million bags per year. Government needs to create the potential at hand, this can increase our economy from 100 million to even half a trillion. These people are educated, they need guidance and attendance with this Parish Development Model.
