A BLUEPRINT BUILT ON PARTNERSHIP: PCF CEO, IRENE BIRUNGI MUGISHA HAILS COLLABORATIVE SPIRIT BEHIND LANDMARK 6TH BI-ANNUAL PRIVATE SECTOR CEO RETREAT

In her closing remarks at the landmark 6th Bi-Annual CEO Retreat, Irene Birungi Mugisha, CEO of the Presidential CEO Forum (PCF), paid tribute to the vast collaborative effort and the dedicated "engine room" behind the scenes that delivered the landmark 6th Bi-Annual CEO Retreat.

Mrs. Mugisha framed the retreat’s success, crowned by the creation of a 16-point resolution for the President, as evidence of the power of partnership.

“An event of this magnitude and significance is not the work of one entity, but the result of a powerful, shared vision,” she stated. “I must begin by commending the entire PCF Secretariat and our Chairperson, Mr. Emmanuel Katongole, for their exceptional leadership and commitment in delivering a successful and impactful retreat.”

She emphasized that the three days in Fort Portal were merely the culmination of month-long strategic processes. This build-up included a series of crucial preparatory engagements in August 2025, from the official media launch and a high-level investors’ summit to a creative stakeholders’ forum and the largest national tourism actors’ conference to date.

She extended her sincere appreciation to the comprehensive network of key partners whose contributions were pivotal to the retreat's success:

  • She acknowledged the critical high-level support from State House and the Office of the Prime Minister, which provided the executive momentum and strategic alignment for the dialogue.
  • The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, which provided essential policy leadership throughout the process.
  • The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) and Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), who brought invaluable, on-the-ground sector expertise to the discussions.
  • She lauded the intellectual and strategic backbone provided by the National Planning Authority (NPA), which aligned the retreat's goals with the national development framework, alongside the Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC) and Makerere University, whose research provided a foundation of data-driven insights.
  • The entire private sector, whose candid, constructive, and passionate participation formed the very heart of the dialogue.
  • The Tooro Kingdom leadership, whose warm hospitality and royal endorsement provided a unique and memorable cultural anchor for the event.

Her message was a celebration of a successful collaborative model. The tangible outcomes, she noted, were only possible because of the deep buy-in from every stakeholder. Her heartfelt thanks also served as a forward-looking call to maintain this spirit of unity and purpose as the focus now shifts from dialogue to the diligent implementation of the resolutions forged in Fort Portal.
